Late 2016 Mumbai Shorts awarded “Mausoleum” with “Honorable Jury Mention”

Estonia to acknowledge 113 people with decorations of the Republic of Estonia on the eve of Independence Day

Peeter Urbla, the CEO of Exitfilm had the honor. 

President Kersti Kaljulaid will award state decorations to 113 people on the eve of the 99th anniversary of the Republic of Estonia to acknowledge their commitments to professional life or society that have helped to make Estonia better.

Lauri Randla with his short film “Mausoleum” (black satire of the pathologist Abrikosov’s thrilling night in Lenin’s mausoleum, performing Victor Kotovicz von Lahnberg) is nominated for the Next Nordic Generation prize, which will be announced during the Norwegian International Film Festival in Haugesund August 20-26.2016.

The short film of the magician’s assistant turning into thousands of butterflies - "The Butterfly Man” by Edina Csüllög, performing Nero Urke, was selected to be the sole representative for Estonia at „ONE COUNTRY ONE FILM” Film Festival in the short films section in Apchat, France 29.-31.07.2016.

Short film „Mausoleum” was performed as Lauri Randla’s film directing MA graduation work in Aalto University Helsinki at 10.12.2015 amongst other student works and had a nice triumph. 

In addition of the film director and scriptwriter Lauri Randla, leading actor Victor Kotovicz Lanberg, DOP Peter Salovaara, editor Leo Pauli Liesvirta, sound designer Jorma Kaulanen and producer Peeter Urbla participated at the event. 

„The Butterfly Man“ by Edina Csüllög was premiered theatrically at 09.10.2015 in Solaris multiplex with 3 other short films of young directors - Leeni Linna „Tiibadeta piloot“, Helen Takkin “Elo“, Carlos E. Lesmes „Äralend“ -  as one programme consisting of four short films named „Lennud unes või ilmsi“ (Flights in Dreams or in Reality). The programme was exposed in several theatres around Estonia during one week.

"The Gull Theorem" was chosen the best documentary in 2014 by Estonian Cultural Endowment Fund. The 90 year old institution has been supporting art and culture for many decades. On 5th of February in 2015, on its anniversary, Estonian Cultural Endowment Fund handed over the 2014 annual prizes. Amongst the respected colleagues Joosep Matjus, the director of "The Gull Theorem" was given the best documentary prize of 2014.
